episode #19 IMPERIAL HOUSEHOLD
In Episode #19, I discuss the history of the Japanese Imperial Family, their role throughout history, and their role as modern day figures of Japanese culture and society.
I apologize first off for putting the show up so late. I have just had a very busy weekend, and just have not had the time until now to put anything together. It was all ready to be recorded, I just needed mic time.
I went off show format a bit this week, but I am just a nut about Japanese History, and I love the way the Imperial Family has had everything to do with the development of this country up until the 1950’s! I know it’s not the most exciting show you’ll hear, but it’s a little informative to those who don’t have much knowledge about the history of Japan.
If you have the money, I would highly suggest you get a “Podcast Art Calendar” made by the famous Len from JawBone Radio

1- Love it.
2- What’s happening with the itunes feed? It fails to download any of the episodes since you posted podcast #15. I waited, figuring that it would come back, but it hasn’t. I unsubscribed, then resubscribed to realized that I can’t download ANY episodes.
Anything you can do would be great.
In the meantime I’m downloading straight from your site. Not as convenient thought, and since I keep your podcast, it is anoying because they have different names and ID3 tags when they come from ITunes.
Cheers.

Hi there,
There were a couple of other addresses in your podcast. Could you please post them too? One of them was that service you were talking about with yahoo auctions.
Thanks,
Jason

I found out why (or probably why) I can’t retrieve through iTunes: You (or feedburner) probably changed something that translates the MP3 source machine to an IP address. What I mean is that for example, here is where feedburner rediredcts me to get the file: http://67.19.113.196/podcasts/episode19.mp3. Unfortunately our proxy prevents us from accessing any direct IP address, we need the domain name. So maybe something changed around episode 15 and now I receive direct ip addresses instead of domain names.
IS there anything that can be done?

unfortunately, there’s nothing i can do right now. one of your fellow listeners is volunteering space on his server that is separate from my hosting.
if you would like to buy me a domain, or credit at godaddy, i might be able to help you out.

You already have a server it seems, all you need is a domain name to attach it to. You can have one for $10/year. Is that too much?
How do you pay for the bandwidth?
I have three domain names ($20/year) but one hosting address with low bandwidth allocation ($50/year), I could not afford the bandwidth for a podcast if more than my friends were to subscribe to it.
PS: It is not a big problem, I can download them from home, or even download them directly from your site. I was just curious.

i guess i could buy some random domain and attach it to the server.
i don’t personally pay for the bandwidth, i have an awesome listener who owns his own server who gives me free space and bandwidth. he’s awesome! it’s the best sponsorship a person could have! if he didn’t help me, i would be fighting with libsyn for all of their downtime, and i would have exceeded my usual host’s bandwidth 5 fold.
i’ll see about finding a cheap domain. thanks!
