I don't care how cool it is, I'm still uncomfortable with the idea of shooting water up me bum. And a portable washlet? That's a bit much.

I'll keep my toilet paper, thank you!

Hey Josh, just found your Podcast and I enjoy listening. After teaching English in China this summer I visited Japan for the first time. I bought a JR Pass and toured all over the country for one week. I've traveled to over 30 countries in my life and no country has so wowed me like Japan has. Though I am now starting work in New Hampshire, I am planning to move to Japan. I was never so comfortable in any country, including America.

I have an unusual request. Could you talk about what your thoughts are about how Japanese treat a Gaijin? Your wife is Japanese? How did you meet? What was her family's reaction? How accepting are Japanese to someone who is trying to learn their language, customs, etc.? Do you feel accepted in Japan?

When traveling around, I noticed a lot of westerner/Japanese couples. Is it really as common as I'm concluding? If you could also talk a little about this, I'd appreciate it.

I can't wait to move there eventually. I'm looking into teaching English there, JET and other programs appeal. I'm a photographer/videographer in America, so if I can find work in that field, it would be ideal. I'm ex-Air Force (don't hate me) and was an F-16 crew chief from 98-02. Never got to Japan though. Misawa was on my dream sheet, but of course AF sent me everywhere else.

Thanks Josh. I'm a new subscriber, just absolutely fascinated in Japan. I love your podcast, and appreciate your efforts in cleaning up the language. (not for my own sake, but so that I can share it with others)
