I've always been intersted in Japan and now I can listen to your weekly podcasts and learn a little bit about the country. I do agree with the guy above me, don't appologize so much. Do whatchu gotta do. I look forward to hearing some noises from Japan.

Another great show Josh! As someone who is interested in Japan (from a distance), your podcast is informative and interesting. My personal opinion is that you should stop apologising. If people don't like something or they think you left something out, screw 'em! Let them get their own podcasts. You were saying in this episode that the other podcaster (sorry, forgot his name) should have more confidence in his abilities. Take your own advice: do what you want to do, and nevermind the Monday morning quarterbacks.

Rock on!

Roy,

thanks for listening! to answer your questions...

1) I did one tour of duty on one of the ships here. met my wife during that time, and grew a family. i went back to th estates for 6 months for a school, and was lucky enough to get to come back to another duty station here in japan. so to answer your question, i have been here so long because it hasn't been consecutive time, and i was just damn lucky. you'll find that many people never leave the east coast or maybe even say the northeast. it's all in how you play your cards.... i just enjoy living here :)

2) i will definitely make some sounds of japan and archive them on the blog. thanks for the great suggestion!

thanks for listening, and if you have any more ideas, please feel free to throw them my way! take care!

Josh,

I really look forward to your podcasts, as they are quite entertaining! I have been Japan on business a few times and found it quite fascinating. 2 Questions:

1] As someone in the military, how are you able to stay in one location [especially, a location choice] for so long? You seem to have a sweet deal!

2] When you get your mobile recording up to speed, it would be great to hear on your podcasts the recordings of the "jingles" from the trains as well as the unintelligible announcements from the train drivers and train station attendants. [Maybe you could have a set of downloads on the "sounds of Japan"

p.s. I'm listening from Michigan
